Announcement: New Sections On TNC
Hey people, Toolsman here with some house keeping information. Over the last couple of months we’ve been working very hard behind the scenes trying to perfect some new additions to the site and the time is just about right. Starting from April 2nd, we will welcome some new sections to the site as we move closer towards completely filling up our daily slots. Yes, soon enough, we’ll up our daily number of posts to two. The regular 10am post and another at 4pm in the evenings. Stand alone sections like S.U.G.A.R and the new Wet Fridays will not join in with this schedule as posts can go up in those sections anytime.
I’ll have more information for you on these changes as time goes on. But for now, please allow me to introduce our new sections and the people behind them.
God Dammit It’s Monday
“Goddammit its Monday” is a short series produced and directed by the very talented Chioma Onyenwe, stars Daniel Effiong and is based on the blog of the same name by Womilee. It chronicles several moments in the life and times of Womilee – a crude, lewd and young Nigerian man struggling with the universal evil that is Monday and all it represents – Work and the end of the Glory of the Weekend. As he navigates his way through the week and struggles to come to terms with Monday, he muses, to varying degrees of madness and hilarity on a great many things – his boss, the struggle for female affection, the Nigerian condition and Life in general. There are six episodes. The first will go up Monday April 2nd at 1pm and others will be put up same time, every fortnight. So set a reminder… and brace yourselves. Monday is coming…”
The Alchemist’s Corner: The Beautiful and Bizarre.
Long time friend of the house finally becomes a full member of the TNC family. Welcome, @TTXIII (formerly known as @_Thinktank_)
The Alchemist’s corner is a place for exploration and reflection through prose, curated by TheAlchemist and will materialize here on Thursday evenings at 4 p.m. It is an amorphous, capricious place where things are never really as they seem. Here, we will attempt to explore stories of the more interesting themes of human nature. Themes of Loyalty and Betrayal; of Fear and Courage; of Truth and Falsehoods; of reality or lack thereof; of Faith and Time and Destiny and Love and War and else everything in between. These stories will come in a variety of forms and to varying degrees of strangeness, beauty, madness and hilarity. We cannot promise you that you will like what you read but we do promise that we will try to make our stories interesting. The things you will see in the Alchemists corner may be beautiful things, they may be bizarre things and when we are lucky or inspired enough, they will be both.
Welcome to The Alchemist’s Corner.
Zombie: Be aware that you are aware.
Staying true to our mission of creating a safe space where young people discuss issues that cover all spectrums, we’ve decided to start an op-ed section strictly for discussing the serious stuff: politics, business, world news etc. This section will be run by two awesome bloggers @je_mc2 and @freakiChinedu. Zombie posts will go up 4pm on Mondays.

There you go; please be kind and help us welcome the new members of the family. I’ll be back again soon enough with more awesome news for y’all. Cheers.
Oh, one last thing. This is an honest plea for my friend and brother Toochi Egungwu. His mother is deceased, his father stricken with a severe case of stage 4 prostate cancer and he is himself afflicted with an ulcer on his ankle which has put a halt to his education. We are trying to raise $21,000 (about N3.4million) for a trip to India for surgery and post-surgical care. Any support from you, dear friends, will be much appreciated. Find below his details and a link to his photos of ailment.
