The Enemy of Best is Good!

If every tool in your toolbox was a hammer then every problem becomes a nail, right? But problems vary just as much as there are people on earth because each person has his own unique identity. Just as a hammer would not be able to solve every problem, a single pattern of thought would not give the best solution.

Every problem in this world stems from a need. Meeting that need is man’s basic impulse. What makes us different from other animals is not just our ability to meet that need, but also to improve on that solution over and over again, with every generation adding some significant input to meeting our basic needs. By basic needs, I mean food, clothing, shelter and information. Yes, information! Believe it or not, it is a very basic need in the 21st Century. Improving on existing solutions has become man’s greatest strength. Not settling for good but advancing to aim for the best has become the mantra for the improving man.

Unfortunately we seem to be lacking “improving men” on this side of the globe. The opposing force which consists of the “disproving men” is what reigns in these lands. These “disproving men” are only contented with the status quo thus planning for today and today alone. The Good of today is outweighing the Best of tomorrow. The balance is out of place, Good has become the enemy of Best. Even amongst ourselves, we look at our present condition and say “E go better!”. Good, Better, Best…that’s how it’s meant to be, yet we can’t see past the present and can only hope for the next day, the “Better “. We no longer dream of the best days we can achieve.

One of the impediments to thinking is the illusion that we have arrived at the solution. For instance, the discovery of oil in Nigeria in 1956 led to the illusion that we had solved our economic problems that we had arrived as a country. Newsflash! Almost 40 years and double the population later, we’re no better or best off, rather our nation has gone from good to worst simply because we got satisfied with good and stopped thinking of how to be the best.

Are you satisfied with who you are today? Are you willing to lead the pack of “improving men” that would take this great nation forward? Then lets get your Best not just the Good you can offer & the wish of just a Better tomorrow.

Who is this and why are you selling things in the comments section?

Stop being satisfied with your little 'good' marketing scheme in the comments section and find a 'better' or best way to do so.
