The Writer Competition WK1
Whew. And so it begins. It’s been a long time coming, we started taking entries in December and boy were there entrieeesss. Thanks to our wonderful team and judges, we were able to narrow the list down to the 10 finalists who will not compete weekly for the next 10 weeks until we have a winner, until one of the wordsmiths becomes The Writer.
For those still wondering what exactly this competition is, well, The Writer is an online ‘reality’ writing competition sponsored by Wema Bank plc. And if you do not understand the ‘reality’ bit, you will starting from today.
Once again, please allow me to introduce the finalist who will be competing for the $1000 prize money.

Today, we will learn more about the writers, why they entered the competition, what they hope to do with the prize money if they win and so on. We will also get to meet our judges who I must say I do not envy at all.
My name is Thetoolsman and as much as I would love to be directly involved with the competition, I reckon I wont enjoy it so much that way. So, my job here is to hand you over to the host of The Writer competition, @Sirkastiq who will anchor the weekly online eviction show as well as the mid week review show via Twitter.
