The Writer Competition 2013: Call For Entries Extension
By popular demand, we have extended the call for entries period. We’ve also joined forces with First Bank Nigeria to further extend the reach of the competition and throw in a lot more incentives for the writers and even the readers. The submission period will now run till the 3rd of February so if you’ve not sent in your entry, go ahead and send it in now.
What is it?
The Writer is an online ‘reality’ writing competition created by TheNakedConvos, where contestants are given a topic or theme to write on each week and you, the public, as well as our judges, will assess them and vote to keep the best writers in the game. The inaugural edition (Click Here To See It) was very exciting and this year’s promises to be even better.
The Process.
Ten writers will be shortlisted from the qualifications stage/entry submissions.
These writers will contest in the online writing competition.
The competition will require all writers to send in their themed write-ups/posts/stories weekly by a deadline.
Posts from all the writers will be put up for members of the public to read and vote for.
At the end of the voting period, a panel of judges will evaluate the posts and score them using pre-communicated criteria.
The public votes and the votes from the judges will be combined and based on this; Writers will be eliminated weekly until a final winner – THE WRITER – emerges.
Who is it for?
There are no age, location or gender restrictions for the competition. All members of the general public are encouraged to send in pre-qualification entries.
How to qualify?
To stand a chance to qualify for the competition, simply write a 1000 word piece (It can be less than this but not more) with the theme and title: “Happy New Year” and send it to thewriter@thenakedconvos.com on or before midnight, February 3rd 2013.
Any Style, direction and format is allowed – the more creative, the better.
Submissions could be in form of stories, articles, poems, etc as long as they stick to the theme.
Only shortlisted writers will be contacted. Writers will be contacted only by e-mail. Please include your full name and a valid e-mail address we will use for continued correspondence, regardless if it is the same or different from the email address you use to send in the entry.
TNC reserves the right to publish any submitted stories later on this blog as part of our ‘short stories’ category.
Only one entry is allowed per writer. The work must be the work of the person whose name is stated in the email.
9 contestants will be selected via this method.

That's via the TWO competition
There's no mention of the updated schedule for results, and the 'Show'.
Please could that be passed across as well?
The finalists will be announced 25/02 and the show will kick off 03/03/13
